Portfolio > Photographic Sketches

I consider myself a hunter and gatherer of visual inspiration. For over forty decades I have been collecting and photographing roadkill, birds that have hit windows, bones, skulls, and any organic form that speaks to me. I use this imagery in my paintings and sculpture. Oftentimes, I arrange these precious objects in the center of a wreath or a bed of flowers and leaves. After finding the perfect imagery, I then photograph it and then paint it. I'm sharing these images so that my viewer's may have a better understanding of what my process is.

I am honoring the dead animals because I see them as the true martyrs of our planet.
